Beets

At the grocery store today:

Sallie rose pointing at beets, "I want to have beets."

Me: "how do you know what beets are? I don't think you would like them."

Sallie rose, "mommy my heart beats for you."

I almost lost it and cried in the vegetable aisle. She was so cute and another lady overheard her and was so shocked and tickled, I thought she was going to lose it too.
