Pre School Graduation

Sallie and Daddy at Graduation

Sallie Rose and the Easter Lillies

My little sunshine song. Sallie Rose is the flower on the bottom left. So cute.

We have had a really great week with her. She is now using the potty and wearing panties everyday. She wore panties to school 2 days in a row and did not have a single accident. This morning she had an accident while eating breakfast, but then she had a huge breakthrough and poo pooed on the potty. Then, she proceeded to do the poo poo dance. Yeah, what a relief. That was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. We are going to Target this afternoon to pick out her own big girl panties.

She is out of "school" until June 7th so I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with her and going to the beach and the pool. Honey (my Mom) is coming to town next week for a whole week so I am sure we will have a good time.

Ahhhhhh....

Sometimes I forget that I am only one person and shouldn't try so hard to do everything and give some responsibility to others. So, this past weekend, we went to Charlotte with Kevin and stayed downtown and did, well nothing really. Sallie and I just explored downtown while Kevin was in meetings. Oh wait, we did do something, we went to IKEA!! One of my favorite places. I really didn't get a lot though. I was super excited thinking I could drop Sallie off at their childcare, but the child has to be potty trained. I knew I should have potty trained her last weekend.

We had good weekend and I also got some me time for Mother's Day. Kevin got me a massage at the Ritz Carlton, it was as nice as it sounds, and I got to enjoy their steam room and I sat and read Dwell magazine afterwards in my robe, just because I could. Great Mother's Day gift.

I also saw one of my friends from Architecture School and that was nice (shout out Alexis, I know now that you DO read my blog). She is doing well and unlike many of us "Archi-people", she does have a paying Architecture job. Woo hoo Alexis, but I think she hates it. :)

Then, this week everything has gone back to crazy: termites in one of our rental properties, tenants doing major damage to one of the houses, Sallie Rose refusing to stay/leave/put on clothes/eat at dinner/bathe, ya know the usual. So, last night I told Kevin that he needed to take SR to school tomorrow and he asked why. I said, "because she is your daughter and you need to start doing more". He said ok and he did it very well. There is no reason for me to do everything for our child, except the occasional bath and bedtime that he does. I work too! I don't make any money, but I am doing a huge thing for him and he needs to step it up on the parent responsibility front. So, without complaining or fighting he did. All it takes is for me to ask him. He is a great Dad and will do pretty much anything I ask of him, I just have to ask and sometimes that is hard. My family says that I am mean to Kevin, but really that's what he wants. Ok, maybe not mean, but he just wants to know what I need him to do.

Me and my boo enjoying Mother's Day lunch. She is the ultimate Mother's Day gift.

This is SR showing me how to jump rope. She looks so sassy.
